    Vintage Farmhouse Christmas Decor

It's Farmhouse Friday again and you know what that means!

    Vintage Farmhouse Christmas Decor!

I do a lot of vintage Christmas decor in my home during the holidays. It's sort of my thang.

Vintage blowmolds . . . vintage Shiny Brites . . . vintage ceramic trees with little shiny lights in them.

Learn how to use vintage farmhouse Christmas decor in your home this holiday season for an eclectic, modern country look. Farmhouse isn't just for the farm.

Vintage whatever, you can probably find it here (if you're new, you can see some examples in my The Ghost Of Christmas Decor Past Comes A-Callin' post where I recap some of my favorites).

But for Farmhouse Friday I wanted to show you something that sort of mixed farmhouse with vintage and rolled it all into one glorious shout out to Christmas.

It's a very simple vignette that incorporates just a few elements:

    • A vintage plastic Santa made by Union Products. I'm not 100% sure of his age, but I think it's from the 50's or 60's.

    • A green bucket like thing.

    • A fake green wirey tree. I tried to find a pretty live rosemary plant to put in there, but I couldn't find any this year, so fake is going to have to do.

    • Also in the fake department are these two reindeer that I bought at a yard sale this summer.

You can see them in action in my DIY Zinc Top Table post from this summer. Well, it's not like they're running around or anything. They're plastic, people.

    That's it.

I find you don't have to have a lot of bells and whistles to "do" vintage farmhouse Christmas.

Vintage Farmhouse Christmas - it's simple and easy and just a little quirky.

Now, if anyone has any idea what these buckets were originally for, please let me know! They are about 8" high by 8" wide and have 4 holes near the bottom and I cannot for the life of me figure out what they are.

Some people have suggested sap buckets, but with the 4 holes close to the bottom I would think the sap would just run right on out of there???

That is an amazing Santa and the fact you found some vintage-style deer to go with him is amazing. I love this simple vignette. It does say Vintage. And I think the faux tree is just fine. 🙂 xxoo

I am so torn this year whether to do a farmhouse Christmas or a kitchy vintage Christmas. Lord knows I have enough of both to do whatever I decide! I'm really leaning toward farmhouse. Ugh. Decisions, decisions....

Love your vintage vignette, Pam! I'm always drawn to the vintage Christmas stuff when I go shopping. Your Santa immediately took me back to my childhood. He's a keeper!

You make me smile Yes, darn true here with the ratio of cooking to eating! And I have a severe carb hangover today. Why does the turkey weigh 100 pounds but everyone gravitates to the side dishes?

Love your vintage decorations. My sister did a lovely vintage decor similar to yours. She's gone now but I'll never forget how creative and quirky she was.

      Happy Holidays to you!

Hi Pam! My first time here. I was visiting Stonegable and your vintage Santa caught my eye. I have the same one! My dad purchased it in 1957 at the dime store in Bernie, MO. My mom was 5 months pregnant with me. I know the date because Daddy wrote it on the back of Santa's coat. It had a light in it and always sat under our silver tinsel tree. Now I put it in a place of honor high on a shelf and remember my dad's love of Christmas.

Ah, what a great story! I have to say he is one of my most favorite Christmas items. Mine came with a light too, but the cord was sort of tattered looking, so I was afraid to plug him in. I ended up just taking the light bulb out. This comes shortly after I bought an antique lamp with a questionable cord, plugged it in and there was a big spark and a sizzle 🙂 Do you still have your parent's tinsel tree?

I remember your Union Santa last year. I have his twin brother. You do such a lovely job with your Christmas displays. I had said I was going to cut back after all our Halloween chaos, but I've been dragging out bin after bin of vintage Christmas. It's a disease, I tell ya!!

Quirky and vintage- you speaka my language! Love the blow mold santa and the pair of deer! As for the buckets, I think they would have been used for trees or plants before plastic took over. Do I win something if I'm right? hehe
